The Equal Rights Amendment will be part of the U.S. Constitution
Here are five actions you can take today:
1. Educate yourself. Visit the Resources page for suggestions on where to start.
2. Post a message of support on Facebook for pending resolution #SJRes6. Tag sponsors your U.S. Senators. Tag us with @ERAIllinois and we will re-post your message. Then do it again on Twitter.
3. Talk to at least one friend or family member about the Equal Rights Amendment. A majority of Americans mistakenly think it already passed!
4. Send a letter to your local paper. Name your senators specifically so they are sure to see it
5. Last and most important, contact your senator (again and again) to vote for SJRes1. Get their info at Congress.gov. Then add it to your contacts so that it's always at the ready. VoteEquality.us has more on why the Senate is so important for the ERA.
It is time for Congress to remove the excuse on equality.
